Komunidad Brings Climate Resilience Tools to SMEs through ArisePH Collaboration
Member-companies of ARISE Philippines can now explore integrating Komunidad’s decision support tools to enhance their climate resilience programs and policies, and help build a climate-smart Philippines.
Komunidad and ARISE Philippines—a local network of private sector companies sharing a vision of a disaster-resilient and climate-smart Philippines—are collaborating to empower private organizations and the latter’s company members and strengthen their climate resilience.
Through the partnership, ARISE Philippines’ over 100 members, including Small and Medium Enterprises, can integrate Komunidad’s decision support tools featured on the Resilience Suite into their programs and policies.
Small and Medium-Size Businesses are one of the priority areas identified by ARISE Philippines. Comprising over 90% of private sector organizations spread across the country, SMEs have been a staple in the lives of millions of Filipinos—they rely on them for their livelihood and income.
Recognizing the impact of SMEs on Filipinos’ lives, ARISE stressed, on its website, that “it is important to develop programs and policies that ensure the viability of these businesses amidst the constant threat of disasters.”
Under this new collaboration, member-companies of ARISE Philippines can access Komunidad’s Resilience Suite for real-time climate data and localized early warnings.
The Resilience Suite is a data and analytics software that provides wide-ranging tools to monitor and anticipate climate-related risks and natural hazards. The Suite can help businesses and governments to analyze climate-related risks, assess vulnerable areas and take proactive measures to enhance their resilience.
Using a simple and clean interface, businesses and governments can monitor and anticipate typhoons, heatwaves, floods and droughts. This will allow institutions to respond to these risks quickly and effectively.
Through this collaboration, Komunidad can help ARISE Philippines achieve their shared goal of realizing a future where fewer lives are lost to disasters, businesses and institutions make risk-informed investments, development gains are protected from disaster risks, and hazard-resilient infrastructure is built. Together, Komunidad and member-companies of ArisePH will join the march for #EarlyWarningsForAll campaign.
